We're Hiring!

2026 Summer Camp Staff

This year we are looking to fill a variety of seasonal camp positions in order to support the continued growth of our campers, program, and inclusive Christian community. In 2026 we will be running sessions for a wide range of ages - all of which are listed below.

As summer camp staff we all have a unique opportunity to be positive role models for youth and individuals who come through our program. Our mission at BCH is rooted in the legacy of the Rt. Rev. Barbara C. Harris and the values of the Episcopal Church: welcoming to all, especially the vulnerable; care for creation; and walking the way of love. No matter where you are in your faith journey and regardless of your identity, you are welcome here. This is a place for you.

Open Positions

Leadership Team (19+ yrs)

Leadership team members work collaboratively with one another and the Camp Director to oversee management of camp through day-to-day operations, supervising staff, coordinating schedules, and more. Positions include assistant director, coordinator, waterfront director, camp nurse, summer chaplain, and director of mental health programs.

Counselors (18+ yrs)

Full description (.docx)

Counselors are the primary role models and caregivers for all campers. Under the direction of the Camp Director and leadership team they work to build a safe community for everyone. They plan, facilitate, and support all activities.

Junior Counselors (15-17 yrs)

Full description (.docx)

Junior counselors (JCs) assist with all camp activities and support counselors in overseeing, caring for, and being responsible for the general welfare of campers. They are mentored by camp staff, chaplains, and adult volunteers to grow their skills in teamwork, leadership, and more. They are directly supervised by the Assistant Director and leadership team. Scheduling note - first year JCs will be asked to attend one youth camp session while returning JCs should plan to attend two sessions of youth camp. JC training is mandatory for all individuals in this role.

Adult Volunteers (18+ yrs)

Adult volunteers work closely with the whole summer staff team to create a loving, safe community for campers. This role is flexible based on the desires of the individual and can mean directing a program for campers and/or just floating around and participating where it feels exciting. All adults will work with our Program Director to discuss what volunteering would look like for them. Welcome any amount of time!

Application Instructions & Hiring Process

Complete the application that most matches your desired position. If you’re interested in a specific role on the leadership team, please share that in the designated question segment of the application. If you’ve been on camp staff before, whether it was last summer or years ago, please complete all “Returning Staff” questions within the application process.

Please understand that, because applications for all positions open at the same time, we often have to work through the interviewing and hiring process from a top-down approach. This means that while junior counselors may be interviewed early on it may take a while to hear back from our Program Director on whether or not they’ve been offered a position. We hope to have all camp staff hired by early April 2026.

Please email our Program Director at kate@bchcenter.org if you have any additional questions. Thank you for your interest in our camp and we look forward to hearing from you!
